History

Natalie's journey towards founding Mission to Commission began over 25 years ago, as a high school student with a passion for service and a drive to make a positive impact. Throughout her extensive career, spanning military service, academic pursuits, and professional endeavors, Natalie accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience that served as the foundation for the organization.

As a standout Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Midshipman at The George Washington University, Natalie demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to service, qualities that she continued to embody throughout her professional career as a Navy Medical service Corps Officer. Her deep knowledge of naval officer programs and military career paths further fueled her mission to provide invaluable guidance and support to those embarking on their own journeys.

From her early days as an Officer Recruiter at Navy Talent Acquisition Group Empire State to her tenure as a Regional Officer Programs Officer at Navy Recruiting Command, Natalie's impact on recruitment and leadership was profound. Her recognition as Officer Recruiter and Diversity Officer Recruiter of the Year underscored her innovative strategies and dedication to diversity in recruitment—a theme that would later resonate deeply within Mission to Commission.

Natalie's leadership extended beyond traditional recruitment roles. As a US Naval Academy Blue and Gold Officer, she guided aspiring candidates through the rigorous application process, sharing her insights and fostering their growth. Additionally, Natalie's experience as the Regional Operations Officer of Officer Recruiting at Navy Recruiting Command further underscored the challenges faced by aspiring naval officers. The breadth of her responsibilities provided firsthand insight into the complexities and nuances of the recruiting process, reinforcing her determination to address the unmet needs within the military community.

Utilizing her own savings, Natalie took a bold step in funding the initial stages of Mission to Commission in May 2020, reflecting her unwavering commitment to her vision and the individuals she aimed to serve. Drawing upon her own experiences and insights gained throughout her military career, she created a platform where aspiring officers could access the support and resources necessary to pursue their dreams of serving in the U.S. Navy, while also aiding those transitioning to fulfilling civilian careers.

Natalie's own transition to the civilian sector served as a powerful motivator in her mission to assist others. Inspired by the lessons learned and the challenges overcome during her military-to-civilian transition, Natalie is a passionate veteran advocate who has mentored hundreds of individuals of all ages on their transitions to and from military service.

Motivated by her own path and a genuine commitment to making a difference, Natalie is deeply committed to walking alongside others as they navigate the intricate paths of military service and civilian life. Mission to Commission stands today as a testament to Natalie’s leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to empowering the next generation of military and civilian leaders with the knowledge, information, and resources required to succeed in the military and beyond.
